Teddy Musings: Kara Biases

I'll admit that I can be shallow as hell when I'm picking biases. That doesn't mean I don't support a group if I think the members are average looking, I just choose the members that stand out to me and tag them as my biases. Is that so wrong? Either way, here are my top three biases from Kara and my explanations for choosing them.

Nicole

Nicole is my all around bias. She has the beauty, voice, and talent that could easily land her a solo career if she wanted. I immediately was pulled to Nicole because she was the only one who spoke fluent English. I found lots of clips of her TV show "Nicole goes to College" (but never the full things!) and loved how honest she was. She's still my favorite member, followed closely by Goo Hara.

It's been a good while since we heard anything new from any of the members from 2NE1. The YG camp has been pretty busy promoting Psy and GD, while our favorite ladies from 2NE1 have been laying low. Now, YG has released a monster of a song from the group's fearless leader,CL , that is going to have fans abusing the replay button.

Teddy Musings: Kara

So I've been doing some nostalgic post searching this morning nad came upon my first post I wrote about Kara. Although Kara was one of the first Kpop groups I ever listened to (the second one I found actually) I haven't really written great deal about them. So this post is just dedicated to all their songs and music videos that I love but haven't actually posted on this blog before as well talking about the members. I might do this as a two part series, since talking about how I feel about every member will make this a super long post. Be sure to tell me your favorite songs from the group as well and stay tuned for future posts.

Honey

I can't rememebr how I got so obsessed with this song, but Honey is my all time favorite song by Kara. I listen to both the Korean and Japanese version, but since Japanese is my first "second language" I prefer that version. I love how cute, and bubbly the song is. The song is also the first time I heard Nicole rap.

 

Does Psy Have a Hit with "Gentleman"?

There was a lot of speculations on whether or not Korean rapper/singer Psy was going to be able to follow up on hist viral hit "Gangnam Style". Now the world will finally be able to see if Psy has what it takes to keep the its attention on him. Psy released the follow up video to Saturday, called Gentleman.  Already, the video has produced over 10 million views on YouTube and the numbers are steadily climbing.

Pondering Over Hiatus and Music Videos

I noticed this sort of pattern of mine when writing on this blog. Whenever my bias groups go on hiatus, so do I. Neither Big Bang nor 2NE1 is making any new music right now, and since my other favorite groups haven't been releasing either, I haven't been posting. But that doesn't mean that I haven't been listening to Kpop or Jpop during my unofficial leave of absence.

 So instead of writing my English paper, I've decided to focus my time giving you all a recap of the concert.

I've been keeping this on the hush because everything happened so fast and I didn't want to jinx anything. I went with three other girls and we all drove a car to New Jersey. We got lost in Atlanta for like an hour thanks to the demonic GPS that came with our rental, but thankfully we got there on time and in one piece. One of the girls, Tylo, really wanted to meet her friend Tracy in New York while we were there, so we split up- two left and the other two stayed in the hotel. I was tired from the ride anyway anyway and didn't really care. I just wanted to sleep and explore the city once it was over. It wasn't until the next day that we got the most amazing news in the world - BigBang was in New York and our friends had found their hotel!

Gain Blooms in New Video

I'm four days late to the party, but I can still say it's new since it's not a full week yet. Brown Eyed Girl's most popular singer Gain has released the first video Bloom from her solo album. The video starts off really slow and sweet, while a film reel of Gain enjoying life. Then we start to see. It looks like the start of a typical love song with the girl dreaming about her lover. That's when the beat starts to pick and the innocent woman we meet see in the beginning let's you know what she really loves about her lover.

Kyary Pamy Pamyu is a Fashion Monster! きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ - ファッションモンスター

The song, titled Fashion Monster, is Kyary's latest and she's just released a video for the single. The video is definetly Halloween styled with Frankenstein and what I asume is a goblin playing in her band. The video is in typical Kyary style -very random

Spica Returns with I'll Be There

Attention Ladies and Gentlemen, SPICA is back!

The glamorous ladies with the vocal skills of goddesses*  have returned with a new video called I'll be There. The song is more upbeat and reminds me of early 90's bubble gum pop songs
