| Japanese Singer Utada Hikaru is going on hiatus |
Our favorite Japanese songstress is going away on hiatus in order to focus more on her personal life. This means that we won't be able to hear any new material from her in a while. In honor of Utada, this week's video spotlight will spotlight various works from Utada that I really love. I hope Utada is able to rest and come back to her music stronger than ever! Most of Utada's American fans may recognize this as "My Sanctuary",which was made popular by Kingdom Hearts 2. But the English version can not stand next its original. The song has a haunting quality to it. Maybe it's her background vocals or the reversed lines in the song...

This song brought Utada to the attention to gamers all across the globe. If they didn't know who she was before, Kingdom Hearts certainly brought her more fans, including yours truly.

The setup of the video is so cool! Paper backgrounds and living in such a fragile world, but Utada insists that she doesn't care. She goes through the video living living the life of different people, from a schoolgirl, to a waitress. She's so cute in the video and the song is a repeat on my playlist!
